This made me ludicrously happy. :D

Few things in life are better than love that doesn't ask for anything in return.

The quality of mercy is not strained.
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.
Tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown.
His scepter shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings.
But mercy is above this sceptered sway;
It is enthroned in the hearts of kings;
It is an attribute of God himself;
And earthly power doth then show like God's
When mercy seasons justice.

~ The Merchant of Venice, Act IV, Scene I

I lived in Japan for a year and visited Nara three times... and these things still entertain the hell out of me. Chocolate caramel deer poopies! Why, you may ask? Because deer outnumber people in Nara, and they're not afraid to let you know it.

That would be one of my best friends getting bitten on the butt.

One of my absolute favorite artists, offering a free download of her latest song in celebration of being released from her contract with Roadrunner Records. Go forth! Download! Rejoice!
The weekend was pretty jam-packed full of things that kept me away from the internet, so here's a smorgasbord of delight for you!

Delicious new tea in a fabulous new teapot:

The most adorable, fluffiest baby bunny ever:
How freaking cute is this?!

Beautiful friends:

Ridiculous fashion (Don't I look like The Wasp?!):
My ridiculous sunglasses

Sea monsters:

Cats in boxes:

On the most academic of levels, I know they are powerful, dangerous animals, but all of the orangutans I have had the pleasure of visiting have been the reincarnation of Bob Marley. They're amazingly chill creatures. They remind me of Ludo from Labyrinth.

Normally, I would take a photo myself for a subject like this, but I got distracted halfway through and didn't finish my at-home pedicure, so someone else's toes it is! And this is prettier than my photo would have been, anyway... The closest I get to an extravagant spa set-up is tossing a Lush bath bomb into the tub.

Comfortable bed + half a dozen pillows + an obligation-free afternoon = one of the best and simplest creature comforts available.

Hedonism. It's where it's at, kittens.

There is nothing in the world like the bliss that is a hand-cut piece of sirloin. That may sound a little silly, but after you've lived in a country where decent cuts of meat are incredibly difficult to come by (in my case, Japan), you really learn to appreciate the beauty of a Texas steakhouse.

This song has the magical ability to kill foul moods. It's so quirky and upbeat and just happy.

On a more personal note, I'm horribly excited about this new single because, to be honest, I hated "Pork and Beans." A lot.

Not my art or my copyright, obviously.
Barbie Pink Manicure

Barbie pink, complete with sparkles. I went through a phase in high school where I painted my nails at least twice a week. I think I may revisit it.

Daily Dose of Delight is going to be a new feature on [personal profile] elfcraft. It's about finding joy and glee in the everyday. I will be trying my hardest to keep it on a daily schedule unless otherwise prevented by travel or other commitments.
